Signed “Baker, 244 High Holborn, London”.  Charles Baker was in business from 1851-1909 and sold a variety of scientific instruments.  This very large (19” fully extended) binocular microscope was made around 1870.  It has the original lacquer, fine focus knobs, mechanical stage with lateral movement, optical condenser with variable iris diaphragm and 2-½” plano-concave mirror.
